Because both of my parents are nurses, I grew up leafing through pages of illustrations of the human body and medical dictionaries along with “The Giving Tree.” I always appreciated having someone to go to get medical help and always admired my dad’s tremendous amount of useful knowledge. Personally, I couldn’t imagine working a Western medicinal field because none of my experiences with it resonated with me as something I would want to be involved in.
So I followed my love of nature and the living world down a trail learning about biology and ecology. I initially thought about ecological research and but after exploring it a bit deeper, I felt encouraged to take a step back from that career path. I went to Jerusalem to study Judaism. I wanted to learn more about my roots and take some time to engage in some of the bigger questions in life. It was there that I met a healer whose method resonated with me, realized that there are other paths out there, and became more aware of my own capacity to help facilitate healing in others.
Now I’m here, in Brooklyn, learning how to live well and help others heal, and sharing my story with whoever is interested.
Dear Noah,
How wonderful of you to write to us!! Dear boy. BUT … I am too old and thick-headed to understand your website. Just what ARE you doing? Herbal medicine …. in Brooklyn??? I guess that pastoral picture on your site is NOT from Brooklyn. By the way, Yossi grew up in Brooklyn in Bensonhurst. Where are you?
P.S. from an English teacher — you are such a poetic writer, you might want to correct something in the ‘about’ section, you meant to write “whose” as in the possessive, and not “who’s” which is short for ‘who is’.
Other than that, your writing alone is impressive. Hopefully, rational, systematic and replicable experimentation has not lost a rising star; demand the Scientific Method (5 – 7 steps) be applied to ALL medicine, including homeopathy, Bach flowers, etc.
